Hey all

I bought this 1973 Cadillac with the sole purpose of using it in a demo derby this summer. I have often regretted sending about a dozen classic Cameros and Chevelles to the crusher after a short service as stock car racing fodder.

But after tinkering with this car a bit I have been thinking that it really is to clean to send to the scrap heap just yet. It had sat in a barn for nearly 20 years before I got it and it took about an hour with a power washer to find the Cadillac beneath all of the crud and bird poop. It still needs some work to get it driving, even for a derby. Gas tank needs to be flushed out, and the brakes bled. But it runs, steers, and stops just as is.

It has many factory options that are still in working condition. And a big ol gas guzzling 472 CID engine with a 4 barrel crab. Full leather seats with no open tears, and a dash with no cracks. But after I put all of the needed work into it to ready it for a night of Honda crushing I might as well just drive the thing for a year or maybe two.

So here is the deal. If I had a really good name for it I will hold onto it for its 40th birthday next year. If not, look out you wimpy little import! happy.gif

So, save a 5000 LB car from a bitter end. Give 'er a name today!

The Devastater

The Exactor

Glad to hear you will be saving the car from the crusher for a while.   I once knew a friend who had a Caddy Fleedwood that was missing the "d" and so we called it the "Fleetwoo".

Thanks everyone. Some good ideas there. salute.gif

Somebody from my garrison suggested, "Bruce" as a name. You know, from the 1975 movie, JAWS? Steven Spielberg named the robot shark after his lawyer, Bruce. A great white is a blueish gray with white on the bottom. So it is similar to what this old tank looks like.
