Announcement from Stone

I wish to inform all who read this that as of 1/01/2011 all new orders will be suspended until such time that all older orders are completed or at least are in progress of being finished. It has been discussed that when acceptance of new orders takes place again that a 5% increase of prices will likely be in order.

We are a small staff of two part time helpers and myself. Current orders have overwhelmed last quarters expectations and a restructure of time management and resources is now underway.

Thank you for your time in reading this, and for your patronage.

I have begun taking small orders, mostly just to preserve my small stock of can goods in the pantry.

The big news is that very soon SSC will be moving. Not the website or forums. Just the actual studio will see a new home. I am upgrading to a building designed and built to be a work environment for what I do. Not just a storage shed converted into a workshop. My wife and I are going to sink about all that we have into this venture. Already have about 90,000 invested in shop equipment and supplies. Soon a $50,000 studio will be completed for our use. During this move we will be without Internet for a few weeks, and likely will also be somewhat homeless as well.

We own a 8 year old double wide modular home that is currently on rented property. Things have finally come together to allow us to fulfill our dreams of moving it onto a plot of land of our own. The studio will be the first to be taken down as it cannot be moved. All of the equipment and shelves full of molds will have to go into temporary storage for about a month.

Our contractor feels that we can be in our new place in about 3 weeks if all goes as planned once we get started. In the meantime I will be burning the midnight oil getting as much completed and shipped in the next few months before shutting down operations here. The hope is that nobody will really notice any down time.

Hey Stone,

This the post I've been waiting for, yay! By saying you'll be taking "small orders" I hope you're not saying small items because I'd like to order a Trooping Vader helmet for my friend's ROTJ Vader build. What other items do you also make for this? I see you have some great looking shoulder armor but I'm not sure if that was a prototype build or not. If you are selling those I'd like to get that also at least.

And you getting you're own place and shop sounds great. I wish you the best on it. It's been one of my dreams to have my own war-gaming shop with enough space to have several 4x8 tables permanently set up with some great looking terrain for people to play on but alas, rent and a car payment is kicking my butt. Eventually, eventually...

Just let me know what you can take for an order and I'll send some of my friend's money your way.

Thanks,
William Scott

What I had meant by, "small orders" is just that. Quick and easy bare castings that will need some extra work and do not measure up to normal standards is about it for right now. Anything needing paint work or would be labor intensive is still on hold.

My ultimate goal will be to have items ready to ship before being listed for sale on the web site. A shopping cart option with Paypal and other major credit cards. I am currently spending up to 4 hours a day in just updating folks of their orders. I would much rather let a tracking number do that job for me and have allot less people upset because of the production time.
