I had just wanted to post up that I will be out of town for a few days from the 20th to the 28th of August. I will be without internet most of the time, but shall do my best to check in every now and then.
You know, I would really rather be doing that than what I will be doing.
My Wifes Mother just turned 70 , and we have not seen her in well over a year. I just can not deni my Wife of seeing her mom right now. She lives half way across the country so it is not really something that we do all that often. But I have lost my Dad 3 years ago, and my kid Brother 8 months ago. All that I have left is my Mom and I can see her any time that I like as she just lives a few miles away. You just don't know how long we will have our loved ones, ya know?
I understand completely. Most of my family lives halfway across the country too, and I only get to see them about once a year. The 12 hour car trip there isn't something I look forward to, either.
Good God, 12 hours in a car? I don't even look forward to 3 hours in an aircraft. Getting older and I am well over 6 foot tall. I have been getting less and less tolerant of small cramped spaces such as cars. If I sit up strait in my seat on, (in) the airplane I have maybe 2 inches of room between my knees and the back of the seat ahead of me. More than once has someone ahead of me put their chair back into my knee caps. It is not to bad, but if you catch the seat back hinge or the very few other protruding hard parts in your knee caps just right it really can make the flight unpleasant.
Twelve hours in car? Hell no. And if it is more than hour flight I'm popping Dramamine so that I can just sleep through the whole thing.
Car trips are horrible I remember when I was 17, I used to visit my girlfriend once per month at 10 hours in bus from where I live, was a complete nightmare!! well at least I can't get tired of the mountains in the Andes (I also live in a little city in the middle of the Andes) and the starry night you can see in clear days. Now my life is more relaxed (I don't have a girlfriend! LOL!).

Glad to hear you're back home safe Stone! I just got back from CV a few weeks ago. GOD, HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG ALREADY?!!! Where does the time go? Anyway, that trip was 24 hours straight each way in a minivan with 4 other people!!! Upstate NY is a LONG way from Florida!!! CV was AWESOME, but the drive there & back TOTALLY SUCKED!!! I guess getting to see George Lucas 4 times, plus getting to go for pretty much free made the trip worth it! I hear ya though Kent, long car trips pretty much suck!!! Again, GLAD you're home!
